  3.      BIT is a full color image viewer and editor that operate on
  4.      24bits images as well as colormapped ones. A variety of 
  5.      functions are provided to meet your editing need. For a
  6.      complete summary of capabilities of BIT, please see the
  7.      man page. Following is a brief enumeration of features:

  9. @b Image Manipulations:
  10.      All editing functions are accessed through the EditPanel, which can
  11.      be toggled on and off by click on the Edit button on the InfoPanel.
  12.  
  13.      Current features include:

  15. @f Viewing
  16.      Zooming and Panning. Slideshow.
  17.       
  18. @f Manipulations
  19.      Scale, Rotate, Crop, Smooth, Sharpen, Merge, Cut&Paste, Paint,
  20.      and arbitrary pixel transformations.
  21.      
  22. @f Annotation
  23.      Render arbitrary text of arbitrary color and orientation on top
  24.      of an image.
  25.  
  26.      Render simple geometric figures with arbitrary scaling and rotation
  27.      on top of an image.

  30. @b   Loading files
  31.        Files can be loaded thru command line arguments or by pressing
  32.        the load button on the file panel. After files are loaded,
  33.        use the Walking command to view each image. The quickest and best
  34.        way to view a bunch of images is
  35.          bit -s 30 file1 file2 ....

  38.       Mouse:
  39.         left:    Load Next file
  40.         right:   Load Previous file
  41.         middle:  Load Current file Again
  42.  
  43.       Keyboard:
  44.         space:   Same as leftmouse
  45.                p:   Same as rightmouse
  46.                c:   Same as middlemouse
  47.                m:   Show Info panel
  48.                s:   turns slide show off

  54.      Almost every mode has on-line help available. Typically the help
  55.      handle is shown as a pop-up menu entry or in case of control panels,
  56.      you can get detailed help by clicking the mouse on an empty region
  57.      on the panel where there is no other objects that interact with mouse.
